This is a network of paleontological sites within the Ngorora Formation with fossils dating to 12Ma and lake fossiliferous sediments. The Kabarsero area is the best exposed area where abundant fossils have been collected including antelopes, hyraxes, elephants, rhinos, carnivores and rodents among other extinct species. The site has also yielded abundant fossil leaves, which reveals that the area was forested. Some of these specimens are kept at National Museums of Kenya and the Community Museum at Kipsaraman, Baringo.
The landscape is replete with dryland plant species, succulents, medicinal aloe vera, unique Acacia species, birds and a high diversity of venomous snakes including Puff aders.
