The hot spring is located in picturesque valley within and undulating landscape characterized by deeply incised river valley. The hot springs are used for thereuptic purposes and frequented by locals and visitors. Two rivers converge deep down the valleys making the site suitable for nature walks, hiking and popular.
The vegetation community is characterized by wooded grassland dominated by the Lemon grass and Acacia species. The steep cliffs hosts a population of the globally threatened Martial eagle (Vulnerable). The site is considered sacred by the local community and used as a traditional prayer, courtship and marriage proposal site. It is named as the ‘thunder valley’ by the local community and associated with many myths and folklore
